Yusuf Receives Ivor Novello Award
The past 12 months have been very special for Yusuf. Having made a return to music after an absence of over 28 years and releasing his critically acclaimed album ‘An Other Cup’, Yusuf has now been honoured the prestigious Ivor Novello for Outstanding Song Collection. Winners in recent years include U2, New Order and Freddie Mercury & Queen.
The award recognises popular music writers who have created an important and excellent body of work over a sustained period of success. The 52nd Ivor Novello Awards ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Thursday 24th May and the award was presented to Yusuf by Romeo Stoddart from The Magic Numbers.
