Yusuf Presented with the Echo Award
Yusuf has been awarded the prestigious ECHO Award for his life’s work as a musician and ambassador for peace between cultures.
On receiving the award Yusuf said, “I do not believe in the theory of a clash of civilizations; I believe humanity is one civilization, like a river made up from many sources. What is good is good for everybody and what is bad is bad for humanity as a whole.”
The award was presented by Thomas Gottschalk, the host of the German TV show Wetten Das. Yusuf performed “Maybe There’s A World” at the event, which is the German equivalent of the BRIT Awards.
In other great news for Yusuf, it was also announced that An Other Cup has sold over 300,000 copies in Germany, earning it triple gold status.

Yusuf nominated for Songwriters Hall of Fame 2012
It has been announced that Yusuf has been nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame for 2012. The voting ends on December 12th, 2011.
