One World, One Humanity

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. (Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights)
Wouldn’t it be a completely different world if only the nations of the world could remember the human ideals they agreed in 1948? The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was a historic memorandum agreed by the General Assembly of the United Nations following the devastating events of the Second World War, which had killed over 75 million human beings.
If only today’s leaders and governments could revive that spirit of humanity, with a commitment to uphold and support the rights that were laid down 73 years ago, the Peace Train would truly have arrived. I may be naive, but I’d prefer to stay that way than lose that precious light of hope which lives within me.
