Yusuf’s Message of Peace
I dream of an open world,
Borderless and wide
Where the people move from place to place,
And nobody’s taking sides
Maybe there’s a world that I’m still to find
As human beings, we all possess the power to imagine, each of us can imagine our own picture of what that heavenly place called ‘paradise’ could look and feel like. Regardless of individual preferences, one thing would be similar for all — the ‘Peace’ we’d expect to find there.
What we do here on Earth, the way we treat each other, indicates how close we could ever get to that peace. It begins in the heart and in our homes, where we spend most of our lives.
Amidst the battle of light and dark and the tragedies which surround us, by stretching out our hands to alleviate the suffering of others, things can change what’s outside our doors, too.
Jesus once said, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Perhaps if we revisit some of the words and actions of the noble teachers of the Divine way, we can begin to understand just how important they are for everyone.
And as the Last Prophet said when asked whose actions were best, he replied, “To feed the hungry and to greet with words of peace those you know and those you do not know.”
Feeding the hungry and being nice to one another is one of the most basic of behaviours for the survival and rebuilding of our humanity.
Peace Be With You,
Yusuf Islam
